5Rhythms Movement
Practice
WAVES OF BEING – MINI WORKSHOP
As we move through this life, we find ourselves in many
situations calling for different ways of being. Yet, sometimes we find
ourselves falling into predicable ways of being and reacting or closing
down and not reacting. Using the movement practice of the 5Rhythms:
Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness, we begin
to explore 5 very distinct and different ways of being in and moving through
life. This practice will allow us to open up and discover new possibilities
and our untapped potential for being present, alive and in the now.
We will allow ourselves to explore and discover our ability to FLOW
in this world --- to be with what ever is presented and allow ourselves
to move with it following our intuition. We will explore our ability to
have a distinct and clear STACCATO energy
in our life – one that allows us to take action, have focus and
direction. Dropping into CHAOS, we explore
and discover our ability to move with confusion and loss --- to learn
to dance in the rain and through the storms. We then come through to the
other side which allows us to tap into LYRICAL
– where we explore and discover our ability for joy and lightness
of being --- ending in STILLNESS where we
drop into the silence – where we listen and move with the quiet
that exists within and without and from which we came.
No experience required just a willingness to open up to new ways
of moving through this world and discover the beauty that lies within.
SWEAT
YOUR PRAYERS - MEDITATIVE GATHERING
To Sweat is to pray, to make an offering of your innermost self. Sweat
is our holy water, pearls of liquid that release your past, connect you
to the present and give space for dreams of the future. Sweat purifies
body, heart, mind and soul connecting you the universal spirit that guides
us all. The more you dance, the more you sweat. The more you sweat the
more you pray. The more you pray, the closer you come to ecstasy.
Sweat Your Prayers is a monthly
5Rhythms meditative gathering to practice reconnecting ourselves to ourselves.
There is no experience required just a willingness to open up to your
true energy and to let that energy move through and with you. After a
warm-up and check-in, we will take an uninterrupted meditative journey
through the “Wave” of the 5Rhythms.
RHYTHMTRACKS
- ENERGETIC GATHERING
“Find your Groove and Bust a Move” – Embark on a journey
of self-awareness and transformation through movement by exploring the
simple practice of the 5Rhythms®.
Using the 5Rhythms - Flowing, Staccato, Chaos,
Lyrical and Stillness as our map and gateway, we can journey
into literally thousands of different movements held in the body and also
track where we are or where we are not present with ourselves, with another
and with our community.
With no steps to follow, just new ways of being and moving to be explored,
each movement becomes as unique as ourselves. After a warm-up and check-in
with a theme as our focus, we will take an uninterrupted guided journey
through the “Wave” of the 5Rhythms.
WAVES
– CLASS/INTRO
Come experience the joy of dancing the 5Rhythm
Wave. In these classes participants will take a deep dive into the 5Rhythms
work of Gabrielle Roth which is designed to free the spontaneous dancer
living inside each of us. The 5Rhythms
are a dynamic workout for body & soul - a moving meditation - a practice
where we ‘Sweat Our Prayers.’ There are no steps to follow,
& nothing to memorize. Rather, the 5Rhythms
- Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical & Stillness are used
as guides for catalyzing your own unique dance & providing movement
maps for creative self-exploration. No experience required.
